TV’s Greatest Restaurants – A Handy Guide

Dragonfly Inn Stars Hollow, CT If you’re looking for more upscale and imaginative fare, we suggest this phenomenal bed and breakfast, run by Lorelai Gilmore and Head Chef Sookie St. James.  Local produce, grown by Jackson Bellville, enhances many of the dishes, and all of them must meet Chef St. James’ exacting standards.  Menu changes seasonally, sometimes daily. Score: Four stars (Gilmore Girls)

Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack Multiple Locations Mr. Cluck’s has an uphill road with diners.  After all, in 2002, the Diamond Bar,CA location was hit by a meteor during a live news report.  Popular local reporter Tricia Tanaka and a cameraman were killed.  Scarcely a year later, the chain sponsored Minnesota balloonist Henry Gale in his projected flight around the world.  Gale disappeared over the Pacific and was never seen again.  At this point, Mr. Cluck’s as a restaurant is overshadowed by the story of Hugo Reyes, now known worldwide as one of the Oceanic Six, who later disappeared for a second time.  For anybody willing to overlook all of this, they’ll find solid, dependable fried chicken at affordable prices.  Strangely, we were certain that they offered a new item called “Outback Roasters”, but management assures us that no such item exists, and we must be dreaming. Score:  Three Stars (Lost) The Maxx Bayside, CA This hip and fun diner boasts a magician as its owner and namesake, so bring the kids!  It’s frequented by students from nearby Bayside High, so be prepared to wait a while if you need a booth…these teenagers often order drink refills and french fries in order to loiter while planning all sorts of wacky hijinks.  The Maxx Burger is a popular item, and the milkshakes are perfect for sharing. Score: Two and a half stars (Saved by the Bell)

  1. I don’t think you missed a single TV restaurant, save for the mess hall on M*A*S*H*, maybe. Of course, it’s hard to believe TWO places on Gilmore Girls made the cut and the diner from Alice and The Peach Pit did not.

I would do anything for a heaping plate of passive aggressiveness and unspoken sentiments from The Peach Pit.
