When the season began this week, we picked up where we left off, with Tommy at death’s door after his uncle shot him, blinded by rage after his wife dies in a car wreck; something for which he ultimately blames Tommy. And even though he’d been holding everyone hostage and making them watch Tommy bleed out, Uncle Teddy must have been convinced to let someone call 911, as the first thing we saw was Tommy, Teddy and Lou in the back of an ambulance and Tom visiting with his dead cousin Jimmy before being pulled back from the brink. While I’m glad we won’t be spending the season with ghost Tommy, the weird resolution of that masive cliffhanger was not exactly the best way to kick things off.
