Kaleidoscopic Raygun: Conan Returns

Conan’s choice of guests was perfect. Not quite Charlie Sheen or Tom Hanks (even though Tom Hanks is on tonight) which could overwhelm the magnitude of Conan’s moment, but rather Seth Rogan and that-girl-from-Glee, both of whom would be “cool” with any mis-queues or nervousness and both of whom, save for lighting themselves on fire, wouldn’t steal the “Conan’s Back” headlines in today’s news stories.  Honestly, I can’t remember much other than the fact Seth Rogan swore and talked about pot, and that the-girl-from-Glee is a very sweet girl. Oh, and Jack White is awesome.

It was a first-day on a new job and not the job Conan ultimately wanted. In this current landscape of downsizing and job loss and people going back to work for the sake of working, and being forced out of their careers, unfortunately Conan truly is the entertainment world’s embodiment of the Gen X and Gen Y struggles. So, maybe as we all fight through our hardships and struggle to get our careers and the economy back on track, Conan will be right there with us and eventually we’ll all be clapping and applauding along with him when we all reach that mountatin top again, ourselves.
