“Our forefathers” are well regarded as some of the most brilliant men in human history. They founded a nation and constructed a document that laid the building blocks of one of the greatest, most powerful nations in history, and for 200 years America has represented an idealized “dream” of the human spirit. When you read our Constitution, its like they thought of everything. And that was over 200 years ago. They didn’t know there’d be hundreds of newspapers, Internet, blogs, cable TV news, Clinton-speak, and something called a “pundit.” Yet, somehow, with how our forefathers wrote the Constitution and its many Amendments, it continues to protect us from ourselves.
