Of course, that would leave us with no drama, no fish out of water antics. And didn’t NASA actually allow the filmmakers access to their facilities? That’s insane!
What makes this all the more surprising is that the likes of no less than Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) and J.J. Abrams were on the staff. I guess ten years ago, these guys just needed a job, huh? But maybe therein lies the reason that I love this movie, despite it’s flimsy and illogical premise…the characters created by the writers and actors are endearing, despite the idiocy of the film itself.
