This was a decent week, given the fact that a lot of things were in re-runs and I was stuck working late quite a bit. So, as fate would have it, the most awesome thing I saw was something I stumbled across whilst on a brief (yeah, right!) internet break at work (my rationale is that I don’t smoke, so I’m entitled!) Anyhoo…this video was posted on funnyordie.com, the home of some of the best comedy around these days. It’s a video made in response to the passage of the now infamous Proposition 8 in California, which made it illegal for gay people to marry in the state. Not surprisingly, it’s called “Proposition 8: The Musical”, and features people from John C. Reilly and Margaret Cho to Jack Black and Allison Janney and was composed by Marc Shaiman, the musical genius behind things like the Broadway musical Hairspray. The part that tilted the scales of awesomeness for me, though, was the presence of one Neil Patrick Harris, who elevates everyone and everything by simply showing up. Yes, NPH is just that good!
