Amazing Race – Season 17 Snap Judgments

Well, this is a first. And Amazing Race team comprised of a birth mother and her biological daughter who’re only meeting for the third time at starting line. Watching their video, they certainly look to have found quite the instant connection. However, I still can’t imagine deciding to do this under the circumstances. I mean, how did that conversation go? Andie (mom): “I saw when you tweeted that you’d like to go on the Amazing Race. I’d love to do that too!” Jenna (kid): “Sweet! I’ve got time off from school and you’re a stay at home mom, so why don’t we shoot a quick video right now and submit it to the network?” Andie: “That’s a great idea!” Also, do you think there was any awkwardness when Jenna first talked to Andie only to find out that after she gave her up for adoption at 22 that she went on to have TEN more kids? Because I feel like that might cause some underlying issues. (mw)
