Star explains to LaToya that the banners she wants will cost $7200, and the entire print budget for the task is $3500. LaToya considers it for a moment and says she still wants all of the banners. Star: “You can want what you want, but you have to be practical.” LaToya: “I’m the project manager and you have to listen to me.” That is seriously the conversation. She is not grasping the simple concept that the thing she wants costs more money than they have. That’s what happens when you grow up famous. Or are a child. I don’t remember who wrote it (maybe Tom Scharpling?), but I read something about this show that referred to LaToya as a “fifty-three year-old preteen”, and that’s dead on.
