As NeNe and Marlee pick up the aprons, Hope calls them with another errand. She says they have to go to Madame Paulette’s, and nobody explains what that is. In the absence of confirmation to the contrary, I’m going to assume that it’s a brothel.
The next day, Busey and Lil Jon head to the grocery store while Meat Loaf and John bemoan their lot in life. John talks about how Busey called him “Boy” the day before, off-camera. He complains about it at length, and I kind of don’t get it. Neither does Meat Loaf, who is not at all incensed by it. It’s not like there’s a racial element when Busey says it to John – obviously, that would be unacceptable. There’s nothing inherently offensive about the way it was purportedly used here. If it’s something that bothers John, then he should let Busey know so that it doesn’t happen again – it’s not an unqualified wrong, it’s something that John has chosen to be offended by. (And this is a man who has referred to himself as a “good ol’ boy” and Busey as “Big Boy”.) Without context, it’s hard to say how it was meant. I mean, Meatwad calls everybody “boy”, and that’s never been a problem. And there’s a regional aspect – in some parts of the country, that’s a thing people say. For a white guy to call another white guy “boy”, I just don’t think that’s inherently wrong. John Rich does not agree and talks about it forever.
You could tell, even after the entire project crashed and burned, Trump didn’t want to send Busey home because the show is less entertaining without him.
See, I disagree. Trump only thinks the show is less entertaining, but I was so much more relaxed watching this week without his crazy ass invading the personal space of everyone he came in contact with.
Yeah, it was definitely more entertaining to watch without Busey — not only did he make me uncomfortable, but he was leeching screen time from everybody else. We don’t really know much about how the various people interact with one another, because the editing was so Busey-focused. I think I would have been happier if he just popped up once every episode to say something crazy and then moved on.
