Vinny admits Piers is a better leader and Trump seeks the counsel of Rev. Stephen, as you do, who starts with the sage words, “I’m not trying to kiss your ass, but…” which I know I’ve heard so many spiritual leaders say over the years. There’s a split second where it appears Trump might turn The Cobra on Piers, and the girls are giddy as they sip champagne in the suite, but he accepts Vinny’s resignation in the end.
And as we finally wrap up this Battan Death March of a show, we’re treated to the scene that I think would piss David Chase off to no end if I thought he actually watched this show. Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ kicks up on the soundtrack and Vinny exits Trump Tower intercut with shady guys supposedly watching him go, like the end of you-know-what. It comes to crashing halt with the now-classic quick cut to black. The only difference here is that there is no one in America who screamed, “No!” and thought their TV was broken on this night.
