And now it’s Rod Stewart doing “I Get a Kick Out of You”. Straight up, I can’t stand Rod Stewart, and I think his covers of American classics are cloying and predictable. Plus, his voice sounds terrible here. It’s possible that my distaste goes all the way back to his ill-conceived “Downtown Train” cover, but whatever the case, I don’t want to listen to him. (Again, you and my daughter are in lockstep. Both kids openly mocked Rod’s hair and voice. I’ve taught them well.–Myndi)
The next award? “Best Judge’s Moments”. This really is just a montage of the judges saying crazy things and Carrie Ann crying. It’s pretty funny, because they really have had some strange critiques over the years. There’s even a mini-montage of Bruno almost hitting Len. So there’s not actually an award, but I am amused.
