The Macy’s Stars of Dance number is choreographed by Michael Rooney, son of Mickey, who waas apparently there just hanging out this afternoon, and Harry got to meet him. How surreal! It’s a sort of Buzby Berkley-inspired routine that’s really just good, old-fashioned fun. Instead of weird sets and whacked out dance moves, we get aout six or seven couples strutting their stuff for three plus minutes to a high-energy pop song highlighted by the orchestra, and the audience and judges eat it up. In the front row, Mickey and his wife cheer their son and the dancers. (It took me a while to realize that they weren’t talking about Mickey Rourke. I figured his son was a child prodigy. -EJ)
