Out on the floor, Tom says, “I was trying to figure out what Cloris was saying and when the migraine set in, I just stopped.” He’s here to introduce the Rockettes. Well, this will be the polar opposite of the weirdness from last week! The Rockettes are as American as Mom and apple pie!
The thing is, when the Rockettes perform, it could be any time or place in the last 80 years, preferably a parade in Herald Square. It’s good, wholesome entertainment, and a joy to watch, but innovative it is not. Hard to be revolutionary in 2008 when “No Business like Show Business” is playing and there’s a dual kickline finale. It’s like a big, sparkly hug from Grandma, and it feels good!
