Petra Nemcova – Sadly, Petra is most famous for losing her fiancé in the 2004 Thailand tsunami. In the last few years, she’s been doing more charity work than modeling, which is really admirable. In terms of DWTS, my feelings
are mixed. Models have a spotty history here. Paulina Porizkova went out in the first week, Kathy Ireland washed out early, Joanna Krupa fell just short of the finals, and Stacey Keibler finished third. Petra’s a pretty compelling personality, which should buy her some time until she finds her footing. Dmitry Chaplin returns for his third appearance on the show. He tanked with the aforementioned Holly, and went to the finals with Mya. Since he hasn’t done much on the show, I don’t really have any real opinion on him. He seems perfectly nice, though. All in all, this isn’t one of the more compelling pairs, but they may have some surprises up their frilly sleeves. (EJ)
Even though I didn’t know half the celebs for Season 12 of DWTS, I’ve been pleasantly surprised (so far) by this cast. This could, actually, be a fun season. (Hallelujah!) No faves at this point. I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to seeing what each couple brings to the floor on March 21.
I’m kind of disappointed there’s no ringer! You knew Nicole Scherzinger, Brandy, Evan Lysacek, Melissa Rycroft, etc would be awesome. But nobody here is giving me “I’M AN AMAZING DANCER” vibes.
