Dancing with the Stars – Season 12 Snap Judgments

Ralph Macchio–This one was a surprise, huh?  Ol’ Daniel-San has been pretty quiet over the years since he left the spotlight, and has been off raising a family and such.  He seems like a nice guy, kind of endearingly dorky and very genuine.  I’m having a hard time picture Karina doing anything great with him, though, because I feel like their chemistry will be lacking, at least on paper.  I hope she doesn’t go for some gimmicky thing and try to incorporate “wax on, wax off” into the first routine. (MW) Romeo – Romeo (formerly Lil’ Romeo) is already famous on DWTS for dropping out before Season Two began.  If you’ll recall, his dad – the infamous Master P – stepped in for him and went on to pull consistently terrible scores, earn the ire of the judges, and made poor Ashly very sad.  He’s getting a second chance, and hopefully not giving a crap about dancing doesn’t run in the family.  The fact that he’s trying again gives him points in my book, though.  What worries me is that he’s partnered with Chelsie Hightower.  Poor Chelsie has consistently had partners who are either terrible, deeply unlikable, or both.  I mean, Bachelor Jake Pavelka and Michael Bolton back to back?  Nobody deserves that.  Remember the dog-themed dance last season?  The girl is cursed! Even though I didn’t know half the celebs for Season 12 of DWTS, I’ve been pleasantly surprised (so far) by this cast. This could, actually, be a fun season. (Hallelujah!) No faves at this point. I’m keeping an open mind and looking forward to seeing what each couple brings to the floor on March 21.

  2. I’m kind of disappointed there’s no ringer! You knew Nicole Scherzinger, Brandy, Evan Lysacek, Melissa Rycroft, etc would be awesome. But nobody here is giving me “I’M AN AMAZING DANCER” vibes.
