Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With the Stars: Season 9, Week 4 – Performances

Mark & Lacey (22/30) are doing a Two Step and they both try on horrible southern accents for the occasion.  He struggles with not being perfect, but a visit from his adorable children seems to chill him out.  It’s a little more ballroom-ish than Chuck & Anna’s routine (see below), and the choreography is just more engaging.  Bruno points out his increased confidence but says he lost his footing at one point, which I did notice.  Both Carrie Ann and Len call out the choreography like I did; Len points out the way he was involved in the spins, you know, as compared to Chuck.  They get their highest score of the competition. Aaron & Karina  (18/30) Aaron trains in some really girly looking Uggs(It doesn’t help that this segment opens with Michael Irvin applying a tender manhug.) He also wants to add some gymnastics moves to their Lambada, so they go to see a former gymnast for pointers.  He starts the routine by doing a round off back handspring over Karina in the middle of the floor, and I have to give him props for that.  From there, it’s all downhill.  His footwork is all right, but I’m not overly impressed with his hips.  It’s just…not hot.  Karina, of course,  is impressive in the spins, but Aaron just kind of stands there, and he is the one being judged, after all.  Len and Bruno are both disappointed in the lack of “raunch” and “foreplay”.  Carrie Ann tells him he’s trying too hard, and he’s making people turn off to him. He totally bought his own hype after the whole Muppet fiasco, and now he’s getting the smackdown(Wait, how can anything involving Muppets be a fiasco?  I reject your reality! – EJ) She swears she’s not trying to hurt his feelings, but I’m thinking there will be more tears in Aaron’s future, despite the fact that he says he’s not going to backstage with Samantha after he gets the scores.
