Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With the Stars: Season 9, Week 4 – Performances

Chuck & Anna (17/30) are doing the Texas Two Step.  This is so far away from ballroom or Latin, it’s a bit ridiculous.  Honestly, I’m bored.  And I don’t think even Anna looks all that comfortable doing this.  (She does, however, look adorable. – EJ) The judges liked the lifts as well as Chuck’s entertainment skills and “novelty”, but understandably, they pick on the quality of dancing, or lack thereof. I think the man is just there at this point because people are afraid of him.  (I should point out that Chuck was on The Simpsons last night.  He voiced a character who looked like him, and was an Ultimate Fighter.  Acting! – EJ) Michael and Anna (16/30) have to tackle the Bolero, and Anna calls Tony Dovoloni, who is a world champion Bolero dancer, in to help.  Um, I don’t know that his counseling paid off.  (In all fairness, they were probably distracted by his giant head. – EJ) They have no real chemistry that I can see, and he’s still stiff, but not in the fun way.  Carrie Ann lies and says she saw the romance.  She adds that there wasn’t enough dancing; too many poses.  Len says it was “economic” with the movement.  How diplomatic of him!  He assures Michael that his previous high score of a 4 will be eradicated.  Bruno makes a more pointed joke about the economy, and says he’s still waiting for some improvement with Michael’s dancing.  Me too, Bruno. Louis & Chelsie (16/30) are doing the Two Step.  Not surprisingly, they visit Chelsie’s former partner, Ty Murray, on his ranch in Texas to get Louis into character.  It didn’t really work.  (Because when you want to get better at dancing, you call Ty Murray.  Was Kenny Mayne busy? – EJ) Louis does a lot more walking from place to place and posing than dancing, and again, this dance is just boring, despite some funky lifts and Chelsie’s attempts to spice it up.  Len basically says what I did, which is amazing to me.  Bruno calls the timing “dubious” and says his charm was all that saved him.  Carrie Ann says all the smoke and mirrors employed by Chelsie couldn’t distract from little Louis and his shuffling.
