Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With the Stars, Season Nine, Week 2 Elimination

The USC Trojan marching band, who always makes me think of Fleetwod Mac’s “Tusk”, enter the studio from the parking lot (Tom introduces them from outside) playing “Get Down Tonight”.  We then get some pro hip hop dancers/acrobats in basketball warm-ups, followed by a team of steppers.  So, basically, it’s part halftime show, part episode of A Different World, only without Dwyane Wayne.  More’s the pity, really. (I have to admit, that dude who spun on his head for five minues straight was petty awesome. – EJ)

Joss Stone is back with “Son of a Preacher Man”, which is pretty much a song made for her husky soul voice.  Louis & Cheryl and Anna T. & Dmitry are dancing along, looking fab.  In the end, all four are sort of sandwiched together in a samba roll, with the Anna and Cheryl pressed up against each other. Who says this show isn’t for men?  (It’s like they read my diary! – EJ) Mickey Rourke, for the record, is unmoved.
