Brandy and Maks are deemed safe, while Jennifer and Derek are still in jeopardy. Yikes.
Tom is sitting in the audience with the Mwana family, led by their lovely mom, Bernadette. She and her five strapping young sons are from The Congo, but now live in America. Tom promises a surprise after their story rolls. Suddenly, there’s a very telethon-like feel to the proceedings, and I’m preparing myself for tears. This family loves to dance together. Their father was assassinated back in The Congo and the rest of the family apparently escaped the same fate, going to a refugee camp and eventually to America. Turns out the boys have been secretly rehearsing with Kym to perform on the show and make Mom proud. They dance a routine that’s part cha cha cha with all our favorite Pro females–the littlest one paired with Lacey (hee!)–and part acrobatic Pop N Lock routine. It’s simply charming, especially considering the story. Mom’s crying and, of course, I am a little too. Doesn’t take much, people.
