Now, let’s look at the Bay Area childhood of Miss Cheryl Burke. Apparently, she was so quiet and shy that her mother thought she was deaf. She also thought ballroom dancing was for old people at first, but now it’s her life and she makes her parents proud. (I’m sensing a theme!)
Some young man named Emilio designed the costumes for Joey Fatone and Melissa Rycroft to do the Design a Dance to “Rock N Roll All Night”. He’s either petrified of being on TV, or he’s mad at something. Not sure which. Tom jokes that Joey wants to see the guy in the parking lot after the show. We then see that Joey is doing a very average Gene Simmons impression and has a tongue so red it would appear he drank a gallon of Kool Aid before coming out. They are doing an Argentine tango that is just OK. It’s sort of slow. Joey’s not exactly in fighting form and Melissa could try having an expression on her face of some kind. Smile, scowl, sneer, whatever. Emilio looks disgusted when it’s over. Perhaps he was grossed out by Joey’s tongue wagging or he had terribly high expectations that Joey & Melissa just did not meet.
