After another run throught the leader board, we get to find out a few safe couples. Tom and Cheryl and Chuck and Anna are pronounced safe, while Other Anna and Michael are deemed “in jeopardy”. Tom teases something about whether or not Tom can continue, however. Again. So tedious.
Backstage, Aaron, Debi, Michael and their partners are with Samantha. Debi’s dress is still horrifying. Aaron and Debi both lament their errors while Michael is smiling away. Samantha asks him if the low scores hurt, and he says yes, but he had fun. Now, we get a clip package of how hard being on this show truly is. Everyone talks about their perceptions of the others and Donny, Melissa, and Kelly express how afraid they were. Mya talks about putting on a show to remember. And, we’re back live with Tom, Samantha, Cheryl and Tom DeLay. Samantha asks if Tom will continue after all, and he says no. The crowd all say “awwww!” in unison, like, what, were they going to cheer? Turns out they were going to do a Texas Two Step if they’d continued, and Tom B. invites them to do it on the season finale if Tom’s feet are up to it. He’s delighted. Tom B. goes on to say that in the “interest of fairness”, and not to discount the viewer votes, etc. that there will still be an elmination tonight. I suppose this saves us from some other dramatic double elimination that was planned down the road, so let’s get rid of another one. We’ll be just inches from cracking the Top 10? Remember back when this show had six contestants? Those were happy times.
