Tom puts on his best newsman voice and throws it to Melissa Rycroft, who is telling us all about the trials & tribulations of working behind the scenes on the show. She talks about production assistants, the conductor, hair & makeup, the stage manager and director. The package is silly, but she’s cute.
The Macy’s Stars of Dance number is an Elvis tribute, so Priscilla is there. She attempts to smile and almost makes it happen. The dancers groove to “Blue Suede Shoes” and their costumes and pompadours make them like they’re out of an Archie comic. Plus, they’re all wearing electric blue (suede) shoes that come off as clown shoes on most of them. The dance itself is of the highest caliber, as these numbers tend to be, but I was terribly distracted by all that other stuff, as you probably figured.
