Brandon Mychael Smith and Keauna McLaughlin – Wow, they’re trying to replicate DWTS as exactly as possible. They both introduce themselves and we see footage of the two meeting for the first time, and then there’s rehearsal footage and this feels like total deja vu. The key difference, though, is that they don’t have the structure of a dance genre going in – they just have a skating routine that has to incorporate two elements. Now, I can’t skate even a little, so I’m going to be impressed by everybody. That said, this seems to be a pretty good routine. They’ve already got some lifts going on, which is cool. Still, it’s hard for me to really get a vibe for whether it’s good or not, since I’ve never watched figure skating outside of the Olympics. It’s certainly not that good is all I can really say.
