On the other side of the coin, the ghosts, those who believe they’ll die before April 29, lead a fatalistic existence. There’s a subculture of ghost clubs, in which they indulge all of their desires. They risk their lives for no other reason than that they didn’t see their future. Strangely, they may actually have more options open to them than anybody else – they believe that they’ll be dead in months, but that could come from a surprise heart attack or from being trampled by bulls in Pamplona. They are absolutely free to do whatever they want, only this time, they have sort of an anti-safety net to rely on. It’s easy to take risks when you know you’ll succeed, it’s easier still that you know you won’t have to live with the repercussions.
