4. Decide how time travel works – Is it possible to change the past? Does changing the past result in a different future, or does the universe auto-correct? When we see the future, is it our own timeline, or a parallel universe? Well, the answers to these questions change depending on who’s writing the episode. With Hiro, time travel is going to be inevitable, so figure out what the rules are, and stick to them. I know it sounds pedantic, but if you’re inconsistent with such a major plot element, it’s harder to enjoy the show.
