Journaling – Mysterious Don’s mysterious wife brought up a good point – why did Widmore want that journal so much anyway? This was a source of speculation back in Season Four, when he dropped an absurd amount of money at that auction. Now, his motivation could come back to the mystery of what he’s doing on the Island right now and what he plans for Smokey.
