LOST: Pre-Game for “The Package”
Anyway, putting dates to the Black Rock history complicates things. Richard was taken aboard in 1867, two years after the Civil War ended, which put a considerable dent in the “New World” slave trade. And I don’t pretend to know everything, but I can’t really think of a time when any country in the Western Hemisphere imported slaves from Europe. And how many people were in the hold of the Black Rock? Maybe a dozen? That doesn’t seem like a cost-effective slave run. Beyond that, why would a slave ship have crates and crates of dynamite? It’s all very fishy.
