LOST Revisited: 6-13 “The Last Recruit”
Frank leads everybody down to the galley for some delicious canned food, and that leaves Kate, Sawyer, and Jack waiting up top. There’s a great Sawyer moment where he tells Jack that he’s pretty good at following orders. Yeah, that’s old-school Sawyer there – getting away from the monster is OK, but sticking it to Jack is even better. But Jack thinks they made the wrong choice – if Smokey wants them to leave the Island, maybe leaving the Island isn’t the right thing to do. “The Island’s not done with us yet”, he says, which we’ve heard on several other occasions. Sawyer isn’t even going to argue – even the suggestion that they shouldn’t leave right now just makes him angry. He tells Jack to get off the boat, and Jack jumps. Sawyer should know by now that it’s not any fun to jump off your vehicle into the water just as you’re getting ready to leave the Island. He, of all people, should be a little more understanding.
