LOST Revisited: 6-13 “The Last Recruit”
“(Locke) was stupid enough to believe he’d been brought here for a reason”, say Look-a-Locke, and he’s really just actively defeating his own argument all through this dialogue. He even says later that Jack and the rest were chosen to come to the Island (with the great line, “You were trapped on this Island before you even got here.”), which does not fit his thesis. Once again he says that all of them have to leave the Island together, and I have to assume he’s really only referring to the Candidates, and he can’t leave until they’ve all turned down the job.
