And let me drop this one on you. If Locke still has a relationship with his father, then he’s probably not the sleazy con man that we’ve known for so long. And if that’s the case, that means that he wasn’t responsible for the deaths of Sawyer’s parents. Which means no funeral, which means Li’l Sawyer never needed a pen to write that letter. Which means that in Timeline X, Jacob never met Sawyer. (Remember, Sawyer is the only Lostaway he met before 1977.) We can no longer assume that anything we’ve seen in the real timeline carries over to Timeline X.
