LOST Revisited: 6-6 “Sundown”

The Lockelganger scolds Sayid for believing Dogen, suggesting that he just sent Sayid on a suicide mission. Now, Dogen does have a history of trying to get people to kill Sayid, but I believe him here. He knows that Jacob was killed, so it stands to reason that he would believe Smokey could also be killed. It also seems as if Smokey can’t kill anybody who’s a candidate, which would ideally mean that Sayid is protected from his wrath. Look-a-Locke is good at twisting people’s words, but I thing Dogen was really just trying to get the problem solved. And as we’ll soon see, Dogen is a little too important to go risking his own life.
