LOST Revisited: Pre-Game for “Recon”

Jacob’s Gifts: Richard talked about how Jacob gave him a gift – specifically, immortality. He seems to believe that this is true of everybody who’s been touched by Jacob. It’s interesting that he assumes that this only applies to suicide attempts, though. Is that because he’s seen Locke’s body? Or in his long time on the Island, has he seen others with a gift get killed? Presumably, he’s had a long, long time to work out the details. And yes, his certainty that he can’t kill himself does point to the grim possibility that he’s been trying for a while.
