And this is reminiscent of Michael in Season Four – he couldn’t kill himself in LA because “The Island wasn’t done with him yet”. The implication at the time was that he couldn’t die until the Island allowed it, but we never saw somebody else make an unsuccessful attempt on his life. Of course, Michael wasn’t (that we know of) touched by Jacob. That brings us back to my point from some weeks back that the Island has a will of its own that’s separate from that of Jacob. Still, it’s interesting that this situation came up two seasons back. Yeah, I’m so ready for Richard “Batmanuel” Alpert to get a flashback episode. The sooner this happens, the better.
