LOST Revisited: Pre-Game for “Recon”

Weird how everything I have to say this week comes back to the collapse of Timeline X, isn’t it? I’m taking such a fatalistic view of a world where Locke is happy and Benry had the chance to put Alex before himself.

Able was I, ere I saw Elba: We hear Benry X giving a history lecture on Napoleon, and his exile on the Isle of Elba. He mentions that Napoleon, on this Island, faced his greatest test, the loss of his power. While exiled, he was officially the Sovereign of Elba, though the British Navy patrolled the Navy. So he theoretically had power, but he couldn’t leave. He actually did try to improve the quality of life for the residents while there, which is something at least.
