LOST Revisited: Pre-Game for “Sundown”

Look at what we actually see underwater in the season premiere – the remains of New Otherton, and the remains of the remains of the Statue. But aren’t those remains in awfully good shape? If there’s a blast that destroys the Island, the houses and deities setting atop that Island aren’t going to be in such good shape. I mean, they ended up on the ocean floor, right side-up and remarkably intact. So what if the Island just, you know, left? And unlike when Benry turned the wheel, it left everything else behind. The Island itself disappeared, and the things that were on it just sank.
