LOST: The Pre-Season Report

As unlikely as it may have seemed in the past, I think we’re really going to get a satisfying ending. It may not be a happy one, but from the way we’re seeing things come together, it’s clear that there is a resolution in mind and that all of these pieces have a place. Rewatching the series over the break, it’s astonishing how some minor details or bits of dialogue have paid off. Christian’s white sneakers appear in the first scene of the series, for example. I saw Season One’s “In Translation” last week, the episode where Jin learns that his wife can speak English, and when they’re fighting, Sun yells out “I want to go back to the beginning”. It’s a throwaway line in an argument, but years later, Jack would repeat it. In fact, that line is sort of a theme for Season Five.
