How important are the Hansos?

This is weird – Alvar Hanso (and his ancestor Tovar) have only been mentioned a few times in the series, but the Hanso Foundation is massively important in most of the online content. At present, they’ve never made anything outside of the show crucial to a storyline. The online stuff and the deleted scenes are just extra content – they don’t penalize viewers who only watch the show and don’t do the homework. It’s entirely possible that any on-air Hanso reference is just an Easter Egg for the obsessives. However, as one of those obsessives, I tend to focus on those. It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out.
