Best TV Shows on TV – TV’s Moments of Joy “Just the Beef and the Crows”

This isn’t a simple procedural – it’s a moody, dark story.  And it’s not so much about the case (though old-time fans of Homicide will really like the way the actual case develops) – it’s about the ramification of a senseless murder.  The murder devastates the community, and it’s something we don’t usually see on TV.  There’s no sensationalism here – it’s blunt and horrible, and it absolutely destroys the people who knew and loved her.  Watching Rosie’s family in the first episode, you see them go from being irritated that she lied to them and snuck out, to worried when the can’t find anybody who’d seen her, to seeing that last flicker of hope die out when her body is recovered.  Michelle Forbes and Brent Sexton are absolutely amazing as Rosie’s parents.
