I’m hoping Joan asserts herself soon and speaks up, because going back to the earliest parts of season one, and her involvement in the Belle Jolie focus group, this woman is so much more than an office manager in this world. She has the instincts and savvy to works with clients. And the looks don’t hurt. She’s not at Sterling Cooper to find a husband, rather she’s there to build a career. You can tell by the way she reacted to her fiance’s assertion that she sit at home and eat bon bons. If that’s what she does, it will last about two minutes, as will her impending marriage.
