It was nice to once again have a modicum of feeling for Betty, who stood up for herself with her husband (and Roger) and is also using her gifts to her benefit in local politics, or at least local politicians. She is flexing her muscles and I’m once again interested in watching her character evolve as the times change. Of course, I hope her feelings for her children will continue to thaw as this transformation takes place, but I’m not putting any big bets on that one.
And what is the deal with Miss Farrell? Sally’s teacher is awfully forward for a suburban elementary school teacher, but she just sounds like someone who’s already done this song and dance so many times, she’s ready to cut to the chase. As much as he’s playing coy, I think Don’s more than a little intrigued by her advances.
