Now, Peggy and Pete both have offers waiting for them. Let’s be honest – Peggy could get a job from Duck at anytime, regardless of where they left things. Peggy’s fear for the company is more likely her attachment to Don. He’s her mentor, whether he thinks of himself that way or not. And Pete, well, he’s technically a partner except for how his name isn’t there and nobody thinks of him as a partner unless it’s time to put up collateral for a bank loan. It’s actually kind of a crappy deal. The fact that he isn’t making calls to other agencies right now means that he’s either confident in his failure, or he recognizes the value of the people he’s working with.
