Mad Men Roundtable: “Christmas Comes But Once a Year”

There is nothing I like better than seeing Joan get a chance to shine. She throws together an appropriately merry holiday party at the very last minute, and does it without breaking a sweat. But we haven’t really seen what her actual role is as SCDP is yet. I assumed that she occupied a more prestigious position than she did at the old Sterling-Cooper, so I can’t tell if this is an indication that she has exactly the same job at a smaller company, or if this is just an example of her rolling up her sleeves and getting the job done. There’s also Roger’s reference to “Mr. Holloway”. So is Joan still with her husband, or does Roger just think she is? When do we get our All-Joan episode?
