Mad Men Roundtable: “Christmas Comes But Once a Year”

There’s a lot going on in this episode, but I have to begin with the return of Glenn. Glenn, who in real life is Matthew Weiner’s son, is the little boy who was obsessed with Betty in Season One. Remember Betty giving him a lock of her hair? Who thought we were going to see that kid again? He’s turned his interests to Sally now, but he’s no less creepy. At first I thought it might be nice for Sally to have a friend, but Glenn ruined that with the midnight calls and the home invasion. And yet, the saddest thing of all was seeing how happy little Sally was with that lanyard. Somebody left her a lanyard and didn’t trash her bedroom – she’s the happiest kid in the land! Poor, poor Sally.
