Mad Men Roundtable: “Christmas Comes But Once a Year”

And for the last of our returns, well, it’s Lee Garner, Jr. The self-important d-bag who got Sal fired. Just seeing his smug face makes me so mad. And it makes me crazy that he actually gets to order everybody around and they have to listen because Lucky Strike is 71% of their billing. His interest in the Christmas party (complete with petulant complaint that he wasn’t invited quickly enough) immediately upgrades the party to “Roman orgy” level. Not only do they have to show him a good time, I think there’s a desire to make the company look more successful than they actually are, so as not to let Lee know how much they need his account. Not that it works.
