Remember back when Pete and Don went to California, and while Don was off boffing random bohemian socialites, Pete landed some quality face time with the suits at National Aviation? Well, it turns out that all those drinks and lunches over the past three years have paid off, and a much bigger ad campaign is in the offing. Except that Don had to learn the hard way to read things before he signs them. I chuckled at the sheer irony of Betty having the chance to sit across her dining room table from a couple of G-Men and be asked questions about Don’s past. I was amazed, just like Don, that she didn’t rat him out when she had the chance. I can’t figure that out beyond the basic idea that she doesn’t want to cause any more chaos in the lives of her family.
