Peggy feels responsible for everything being wrong (her family, Mark, Danny’s hiring, the Samsonite client). Part of it is her playing the martyr and the rest is circumstance. It was awesome when Peggy broke up with Mark on the phone…the guy doesn’t know her at all, if he thought inviting her family to dinner was a good idea. Nothing going wrong in Peggy’s life right now is really her fault. It’s just life. Her frustration, however, leads Peggy to something unusual for her; she brings up what is actually upsetting her: the fact that Don got to accept the Clio for Glo-Coat, which she considers her baby. The ensuing dialogue is worth quoting, because it’s genius.
