The Venture Bros. – “A Very Venture Christmas”

In a fantastic touch, this episode opens with the old “SPECIAL” logo that CBS used to use spinning into frame. That’s right, we get our first joke three seconds in. Good sign.
We open with Dr. Venture in full on Scrooge mode, accompanied by the Ghost of Christmas Future and visiting his own grave. When he wakes from the dream, he announces he’s a new man. We see his heart grow ten sizes. He runs to the window to ask a young boy what day it is. The boy is his son Hank, and he’s carrying Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree. Then, Doc’s nose turn red and he starts to fly, passing by his other son, Dean. Nobody ever wants a Dean-in-the-box. After the rapid fire references, he wakes up again, and we’re into our plot.
