Gilmore Girls – “Santa’s Secret Stuff”

You know, in seven seasons, there were really only two Christmas-themed episodes of Gilmore Girls, one in the first season, and one in the last. Actually, it looks like they just took December off in all of the other seasons. Perhaps this explains why people get so depressed around the holidays.
By the way, I’m going to try to focus on the Christmas-themed parts of this episode. Since this particular installment takes place during Lorelai’s marriage to Christopher, I occasionally experience white-hot flashes of blinding rage wherein I actively wish harm on Christopher. I will do my best to edit those moments out.
The episode opens in January with Rory returning from Europe, Christmas presents in tow. She’s disappointed that Lorelai’s already taken down the Christmas decorations, but Lorelai never actually put them up. She put Christmas on hold until Rory returned. Of course, Rory accidentally celebrated a little in London, and still smells of Christmas cookies. (Fair warning: This show turns me into a total girl.)
