The Simpsons – As Simpsons archivists, we were pretty excited when this week’s episode gave us an appearance from school psychologist J. Loren Pryor. His last speaking role was five years ago, and the last appearance before that was another eight years earlier. Sure, he’s not a particularly funny character, but it was nice to see the writers remember that he existed. Our obsessions aside, it was a solidly funny episode that had Homer serving as wingman to every male in Springfield, because he makes everybody look better by comparison. And we loved how Moe described going on a date – “an escort you don’t have to pay for”.
