TV’s Moments of Joy: I’m on a Horse!

Futurama – We usually list Futurama, but last week we wrote “Moments of Joy” before the new episode aired, and we immediately regretted it. “Lethal Inspection” was a real standout episode, beginning with an awesome Star Wars parody, and then turning into a buddy film starring Bender and Hermes. Those two characters haven’t shared that much screen time over the course of the series, and it turns out that pairing a proud bureaucrat and an alcoholic kleptomaniac robot is a stroke of genius. Searching Tijuana for the mysterious Inspector 5 while avoiding a robot death squad, Bender and Hermes played off of each other perfectly, and we even got a touching moment at the end. It might have been the new season’s best outing yet.
